Dear Carver Community,

It is with great excitement and gratitude that I introduce myself as the new principal of our wonderful school. I am truly honored to become part of this amazing community, and I can’t wait to meet all of you and begin what I know will be an incredible school year together.

This year marks my 31st year with Long Beach Unified School District and my 11th year serving as a principal. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working alongside outstanding students, families, and educators, and I feel incredibly fortunate to begin this new chapter here.

Outside of school, my greatest joy is my family. My husband, Sean, and our two daughters, Kylee and Kaitlyn, remind me every day how important it is for children to feel supported, encouraged, and celebrated. Those same values guide the work I do as an educator.

As we begin this school year, my priorities are simple.

First, I want every child to feel safe. Families trust us with their most precious gift each day, and creating a safe, caring learning environment is a responsibility I take very seriously.

I also want every student to experience a true sense of belonging. Every child deserves to walk through our school gates knowing they are valued, respected, included, and celebrated for exactly who they are. When students feel safe and connected, they are able to learn, grow, take risks, and discover their full potential.

Just as importantly, I believe school should be a place filled with joy. Learning is important, and so is having fun! I hope our students build wonderful memories, discover new passions, laugh often, and look forward to coming to school each day. My goal is to help create a school where children feel excited to learn, proud to belong, and eager to return each morning.

Strong schools are built on strong partnerships between home and school. Together, we can create an environment where every child thrives academically, socially, and emotionally. I encourage you to stay involved, ask questions, share your ideas, and know that your voice matters.

The first day of school is Tuesday, August 25, and I am so excited to welcome our students back to campus! If you see me around school, please stop and introduce yourself. I would love the opportunity to meet you, learn about your family, and begin building the relationships that make our school community so special.

Thank you for welcoming me into your school family. I am looking forward to a year filled with learning, growth, kindness, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Together, we will create a school where every child feels safe, belongs, and shines.

Warmly,

Cassie Fanton Principal
